Visiting the island implies entering a myriad of paradisiacal, natural environments which are nothing short of the Caribbean waters. Some are amongst the world’s best ranked beaches. In this post we suggest 5 coves that you must enjoy during your stay in Ibiza.
1. Salty Cove (Cala Salada)
Salty Cove is surrounded by greenery, located near San Antonio de Portmany, in the northern area of the Ibizan island. It has several shipyards, and is considered by many to be the island’s most beautiful cove. It’s the favourite destination of many small motor boat owners given that it isn’t overcrowded by tourists. This small, sandy beach is enclosed by hills filled with pine trees and is split in two by a rock ledge. Salty Cove has more of a family-oriented atmosphere.
2. Saladeta Cove
If we skip past the rocks of neighbouring Cala Salada, we’ll arrive at Cala Saladeta, a tiny beach with overwhelming charm. If you don’t want to reach the next cove through the rocks, you can access Saladeta Cove through the road formed by the bordering hills. Cala Saladeta’s waters are turquoise, calm and clean. It’s thought to be the ideal place to go snorkeling. This wonderful cove is considered to be one of Ibiza’s best beaches, and is also found amongst the ranking of “Spain’s top 10 best beaches.” Given that it’s intended for young crowds due to its accessibility, it doesn’t hold any type of facility – if you decide to go, we recommend you take with you whatever is necessary for spending the day there.
3. Conta Cove / Platges de Comte
Cala Conta is one of the tourists’ and locals’ favourite coves. It is formed by pearly and fine sands, and its waters are crystal clear. Located in Ibiza’s western area, it’s an irregular 800 metre long beach introduced by two rocky sides. Many visitors baptize it as one of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches, with a horizon that is dotted with islets and a sunset that is absolutely unforgettable. Being a well-known beach, it has numerous facilities: umbrellas, hammocks, bars, restaurants, WC, showers, lifeguards and disabled access.
4. Cala d’en Serra
This cove is located in the northern area of the island. It’s located in an unspoilt environment. It is not very popular, located far from hotels, demonstrations and beach clubs. However, it’s one of the beaches with most charm in the island. It is formed by crystal clear waters that make it ideal for diving. Its environment presents an exuberant natural environment. Given its rocky nature, we recommend you use appropriate shoes.
5. Gracioneta Cove
Cala Gracioneta is a beautiful unspoilt beach with turquoise coloured waters, fine sand and a gente slope. Located a short distance away from San Antonio, this beach is considered to be the younger sister of Gració Cove. This cove is sheltered by a rocky entrance immersed in pine trees. How do you arrive there? You need to take the PM-812 road in the direction of Santa Agnes.
