Figueretas, the ideal destination for both locals and tourists

Ibiza is renowned worldwide for being an outstanding and exclusive place to spend your vacations. Its macro-parties, paradisiacal beaches, its year-round atmosphere make this island the favourite destination for people from all over the world. This implies that the island has some “more exclusive” places, dedicated to international tourism, particularly during the summer season.

However, it also holds at the same time places that are mostly frequented by local people. These are the corners further apart from the island’s touristic heart, where the local Ibicencos seek calm. Figuretas, a neighbourhood very close to the city centre, is crowned as the destination where both visitors and residents aim to spend their free time. Do you want to get to know it?

Figuretas has a more relaxed, urban and simple allure. It’s located only 15 minutes away from the centre of Ibiza. It holds a maritime promenade where you can enjoy multiple bars, nearby chiringuitos and small town shops. Figuretas has gradually become a residential area where everyone seeks to enjoy their days of relaxation and rest, whether that may be in tourist establishments, such as apartments, or in one of the many hotels you can find on the beachfront.

Figuretas offers plenty of atmosphere and movement, albeit it not being a noisy neighbourhood at all. To one side of the locality you may find Ibiza’s centre; and to the other, the famous beach Playa d’en Bossa. It’s the ideal destination for shopping as it has some of the island’s most important commercial avenues. This area has any of the facilities one may be looking for, such as multinational stores, banks, supermarkets… Everything you need will be at your fingertips’ reach.

Moreover, one of Ibiza’s most famous beaches is also located in Figuretas. Hence, it’s named “Playa de Figuretas”. This beach has a wide extension and is perfectly equipped with hammock and parasol facilities. It’s less exploited than other famous beaches, such as Playa d’en Bossa, given that it doesn’t have chiringuitos a foot away from your towel, but it’s the perfect alternative if you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere. However, as we’ve mentioned above, you’ll be able to enjoy an ample variety of bars on the seafront where you can order whatever you wish without walking more than a couple of minutes away from the beach if you miss the chiringuito.

Most afternoons, the area also holds the typical craft markets what are so characteristic of Ibiza: in these you may find accessories, clothes, shoes, even marine objects and original antiques, amongst many other things. At dusk we recommend you have a drink in one of its promenade’s terraces, facing the sea and enjoying the wonderful sunsets offered by the island.
At night time, despite the fact that Figuretas isn’t located within the nucleus of Ibiza’s macro-clubs, it’s still one of the most recommended places to spend the night.
