Who doesn’t look forward to getting away for spring break? This wonderful mediterranean island leaves behind the gray and rainy days, giving way to good weather, flowers… And trips! What are you waiting for to enjoy an unknown Ibiza, completely different to what you’re used to hearing about it? In this post we suggest the island’s best plans, ideal for this season of the year.
1. The gastronomic route
This is perhaps the best time to enjoy the island’s typical food and tasty recipes. At this time of the year, restaurant’s aren’t overcrowded, the weather is by far good enough in order to enjoy the terraces without stress and, on top, spring hosts gastronomic events that you shouldn’t miss out on. An example of these is Pintxa Sant Antoni, a gatronomic contest of the Pintxo that takes place on thursdays in may of the restaurants and bars located in San Antonio, starting from mid-March all the way to mid-April. There is also a series of gastronomic days on the island’s 40 different restaurants, offering special menus and tapas at reduced prices… As well as many other advantages!
2. The best time for tourism
Spring is the ideal season for getting to know Dalt Vila and strolling through its streets. With over 2,500 years of history, unbeatable panoramic views, mysterious corners and discoveries that reflect Ibiza’s most traditional side, this place was recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage Site, and is therefore a mandatory stop on your getaway in the island. The good weather will keep you company, helping you reach the defense towers that watch over the area: the Tower of Ses Portes; the Tower of Savinar or the Tower of Balanza. We suggest you take comfortable shoes – preferably sporty -, a water bottle, something to nibble on and, of course… Your camera!
3. Beaches that are just for you
During this season, most Ibizans are working and few tourists decide to travel to Ibiza, which means you’ll find all beaches almost deserted. You’ll be able to enjoy a picnic day at Cala Bassa, Cala Comte… or any other beach of your liking, enjoying a paradisiacal landscape, crowd-free, and taking the year’s first dip in the sea.
4. Enjoying nature during the flower station
Spring can become the ideal time to make plans that have to do with nature. At this time, all the trees are in bloom and the fields are at their highest splendour… However, if you’re allergic to something, don’t forget to equip yourself with everything you need to avoid the consequences of spring! You’ll be able to get to know the unknown Ibiza, following the numerous operative trekking routes, or even cycling routes, quad ones… You choose! You’ll practice sports, enjoy the island’s wonderful views and places, and you’ll get ready for the awaited “bikini-body plan”… Do you dare to try?
5. Must-see destinations
You can’t leave Ibiza before spotting or visiting Es Vedrá islet, which has become one of the island’s icons. We also recommend you have a drink at Café del Mar, or Café Mambo, if you want to enjoy a real show when the sun goes down. If you have a little bit more time, don’t neglect visiting Formentera – it’ll captivate you.
