The 4 most romantic coves in Ibiza and Formentera
If you’re looking for the perfect setting to give free rein to love, in Ibiza and Formentera you’ll find the most romantic coves you can imagine. Solitary, wildly beautiful, with crystal-clear waters and golden sands, an unquestionably amazing combination for enjoying unforgettable moments.
Here are two beaches in Ibiza and two beaches in Formentera, ideal for discovering as a couple, watching the sunset and savouring intimate moments. Enjoy them!
Romantic beaches in Ibiza
Playa de Es Portitxol
Just 6 kilometres from Sant Miquel, you will find the beach of Es Portitxol, isolated, lushly beautiful and ideal for couples in search of tranquillity.
This romantic cove, protected from the wind and waves, stands out for its clean and transparent waters, as well as for its exceptional surroundings. Although it’s an unfrequented beach, far from the most touristy places on the island, it’s possible to find the odd fisherman here and there, in the beach huts on the shore.
Access is not easy, as you’ll have to walk for quite a while through a pine forest that borders the coast, but it’s well worth the effort. The beach offers no services so you’ll be able to enjoy absolute tranquillity.
Cala d’en Serra
Cala d’en Serra is one of those beaches that, as soon as you see it, will make you believe that you have finally found true paradise. In fact, it’s considered one of the best beaches in the north of Ibiza.
It’s a little-known beach, far from the most touristy areas of the island and located in an area that is practically untouched. It’s enclosed by spectacular surroundings and its crystal-clear waters are perfect for bathing in good company, diving or snorkelling.
Although access to the beach is not easy, at the foot of the beach you’ll find a small beach bar offering snacks, drinks and ice cream.
Romantic coves in Formentera
Caló d'Es Mort
If you’re looking for an unspoilt cove in Formentera that will surprise you with its idyllic setting and postcard-perfect landscapes, Caló d’Es Mort beach is the place for you.
You’ll find it about 10 kilometres from the town of Sant Francesc Xavier and, although it’s becoming increasingly popular, this crescent-shaped cove, protected from winds and tides, is still very quiet.
You may find the odd fisherman in the wooden huts on the shore or a swimmer practising nudism.
A good idea is to arrive at this cove late in the afternoon and wait to watch the sunset, a memorable vision that will leave you speechless.
Cala d’en Baster
If you’re looking for a different, unusual and romantic beach, Cala d’en Baster is just what you’re looking for. It’s a rocky cove with spectacular views and a wild character. A true oasis of calm and tranquillity.
Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Formentera, this cove offers a surprising landscape, surrounded by cliffs and with access to crystal-clear waters, perfect for scuba diving or snorkelling.
In Cala d’en Baster, often frequented by nudists, you’ll find some caves where fishermen used to keep their boats. Also particularly characteristic of this cove are the walkways made of junipers that the fishermen used to take their boats from the caves to the sea.
Access to the beach is from the village of Sant Ferran. You can park your vehicle at the top of the cliff and enjoy unforgettable views from here.
